Apparently, Yo Majesty is making moves, aren't afraid to speak their mind, much less hide their sexuality (which in the circles of hip-hop says a lot) and most importantly, from what I've read and heard, they're pretty good rappers!

Vickie Lynn Hogan, which was Smith's real name, was just a stripper in those days. But she aspired to be a model, and she was poised on the cusp of stardom, soon to win recognition on the pages of Playboy and several high-profile advertising gigs that would plaster her buxom image on billboards and pin-ups across the country.

Sandi Powledge was the furthest thing from glamour — unpretentious, grounded, fun-loving and real.

They met in a gay bar in northwest Harris County in 1991 and would become lovers. It was an exhilarating time, one that Powledge, now 46, remembers fondly, even as she mourns the death of the woman she once loved.

Powledge's recollections evoke a picture of a woman far more vulnerable and human than Smith ever let on during her moments in the public eye.

"I don't know if she ever believed anyone really loved her," Powledge said sadly, recalling her tumultuous relationship with the famous model and TV star during a recent interview in the small northeast Texas town of Winnsboro. "She was just hungry for love, hungry for approval — just like a bucket with a hole in the bottom."

Funny how Anna Nicole's bisexuality has been missing from all the recent press. My guess is that it's mostly due to the unfair comparisons they keep making between Anna and Marilyn Monroe.

Suze Orman Comes Out Of The Closet

NEW YORK -- Financial guru and best-selling author Suze Orman says she wishes she could marry her partner Kathy Travis, partly because it would save them both a lot of money.

"Both of us have millions of dollars in our name," she told The New York Times Magazine in its Feb. 25 edition. "It's killing me that upon death, K.T. is going to lose 50 percent of everything I have to estate taxes. Or vice versa."

In a wide-ranging interview, the host of CNBC's "The Suze Orman Show" talked about her seven-year relationship with Travis and her personal finances.

With a liquid net worth of about $25 million and real estate holdings of $7 million, Orman said she enjoys spending money and playing the stock market. She said she has about a million dollars in the market, "because if I lose a million dollars, I don't personally care."

Orman said, "women don't understand money. They will go into debt to pay for this and that."

Lesbian Couple Protests Focus on the Family

A lesbian couple in Colorado Springs is facing trespassing charges following a protest Monday at Focus on the Family headquarters over founder James Dobson’s cheery, sugarplum views on same-sex parenting.

Robynne Sapp and Dotti Berry, of Blaine, WA, said they took a guided tour of the Focus grounds, hand in hand, then sat down on the floor of the lobby and refused to leave until Dobson met with them. They wanted him to "publicly recant" statements he made in an essay in a December issue of Time magazine.

The two women are members of Soulforce, a gay and lesbian activist organization that has held numerous protests at the Focus campus.

"I am here to mirror Dr. Dobson’s human essence, so that the reflection will cause him to fully understand why it is important to begin telling a new and true story, one that empowers all of us," said Berry.

First of all, those two make a really good looking couple. Secondly, Dobson sounds like an idiot which is typical of these conservative groups. Lastly, I'm adding Soulforce to my blogroll because they got guts!

The 'Ugly Betty' star is stripping down for a mag once again, but Allure's May 'Look Better Naked' issue does not require Vanessa to engage in sexual activities with another woman, an act she did perform for Penthouse.

The nude photos for Allure won't really show much, apparently, but an insider claims Vanessa was completely naked for the photo shoot.

Purva Bedi left behind the safety and security of a successful position as a management consultant to pursue a career as an actress for theatre, television and film in the late 1990's. It was a risk that paid off with roles in the films American Desi, Green Card Fever and various appearances in television shows including Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Alias and ER.

Some would say that Bedi has taken another chance in accepting the role of Rachna in ARYA/FLAVORS-Fame director MANAN KATOHORA's cross-cultural film, 'When Kiran Met Karen'. Interracial lesbian relationships are not common in popular media, and neither are roles in which a woman from the traditionally conservative world of Bollywood explores her sexuality.

However concerns on behalf of prominent Indian actresses that the role would prejudice their Bollywood careers if they took it on have not fazed Indian-American Bedi, who said the decision to play Rachna was a relatively quick and easy one, stating “"I wanted to make this movie because it tells a story that in the Indian diaspora has rarely been shared. In India, lesbianism is not only a taboo subject, but previous films based on the subject have bombed at the box office. This is one reason actresses there are reluctant to play these parts and one more reason for me to take the scary plunge of doing something that might fail but might also increase the possibilities of the roles Bollywood actresses are willing to accept and stories filmmakers want to tell. Simply because a subject is taboo is no reason to stop creating art about it. In fact it is just the opposite."

I agree. And as an actress she has a responsibity to challenge herself and express her versatility. Kudos to her for taking on such a risky role despite the impending backlash.

New Jersey Becomes 3rd State To Offer Civil Unions

HADDONFIELD, N.J. — Diane Marini used to joke that she was always the bridesmaid and never the bride because, as a lesbian, she thought it was unlikely New Jersey would ever approve same-sex marriage.

Still, she and longtime partner Marilyn Maneely campaigned for gay marriage. They were among seven couples who sued the state in 2002 demanding the right to marry. While their suit didn't lead to a gay marriage law, it has led to New Jersey becoming the third state to offer civil unions to same-sex couples.

The civil unions law takes effect Monday and some same-sex couples are planning ceremonies. For couples who are not already in civil unions from other states, however, there is a 72-hour waiting period after applying for a license — just like with marriages. A few town halls around the state planned to open at 12:01 a.m. Monday so couples could file their applications.

It will be a bittersweet day for Marini, because Maneely died of Lou Gehrig's disease in 2005, more than a year before the case was decided.

"I'm thrilled to have been part of the whole movement to show people who didn't know what marriage meant, why it was important," said Marini, who plans to attend one couple's ceremony next weekend and probably several more in the next few months.

Los Angeles - The latest chapter in the Britney Spears saga has unfolded - and she's not very happy about what she's hearing.

Singer Britney Spears has denied US allegations that she's been into porn, threesomes and girls for years.

A friend of Britney's estranged husband, Kevin Federline, has spoken out about her, supposed adventurous sex life.

Rapper Omar 'Iceman' Sharif told In Touch magazine: "Britney was into threesomes and girls. There was tons of porn in the house - but it was mostly Britney's."

"There were friends of hers whom she would invite to her house and they would drink and party. They had their hands all over each other."

But Gina Orr, spokesperson for Britney's record label Jive, has denied that Britney has ever had lesbian flings. She said simply: "It's not true."

Frankly speaking, I don't buy it and not just because of her infamous kiss with Madonna. I think that Britney's at the very least bisexual (word has it that she loves to make out with chicks on the party scene) and it's only because of her recording career that she's worried about coming out and saying so, which makes some sense. Yet, if she ever does record another album, as long as the music is good I think that she'd be able to keep most of her fans regardless if she came out as being bi.
